I have been a contractor since the age of 18, working primarily in heavy civil construction, excavation, and site development. Most of my knowledge is self-taught through hands-on experience, problem-solving, and a lifelong curiosity about how things work.
From an early age I developed a strong interest in building, repairing, and improving systems. By my mid-teens I had taught myself to weld and use cutting torches, and I began rebuilding engines. I have always been drawn to new technologies and practical solutions — whether that meant learning early programming languages or designing tools and systems when nothing suitable existed on the market.
One of my early inventions was a patented ATM security system designed to protect customers at bank machines. While the rise of debit cards later made that particular solution obsolete, it reflected my ongoing drive to identify problems and create practical fixes.
Throughout my career I have continued this pattern: when I encounter a challenge and can’t find the right tool or method, I design and build one. I have created hundreds of sketches and concepts aimed at protecting people, improving safety, or solving practical problems for individuals, industry, and the public.
I learn concepts quickly and tend to move rapidly from understanding the fundamentals to developing working solutions. While I have limited formal academic credentials, my decades of real-world experience in construction, equipment operation, and system design have given me a strong foundation in practical engineering and problem-solving.
Today I continue this work through Beacon Contracting LLC, providing excavation and site development services, while also pursuing innovative energy technologies through Beacon Apex, including the SMH RF-Mist Hybrid Engine project.
I believe strong ideas can stand on their own merit. My goal is to develop practical, scalable technologies that make a real difference.
